Residing in the Gründerzeit neighbourhood

Despite many historic buildings along Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse having been demolished after the fall of the Berlin Wall, in Leipzig’s Waldstrassenviertel area, northwest of city centre, lies one of the largest and best-preserved examples of the Gründerzeit era in Europe.

On the prominent corner of Jahnalle and Waldstrasse, an elegant, street-adjacent block of four buildings and, tucked behind, two stand-alone buildings are in development, which will enrich this coveted and significant urban district and simultaneously eliminate some of the ugly vacant lots.

Developed in conjunction with the architects at the offices of homuth+partner in Leipzig, this sophisticated living concept breaks the mould of the classic floor plan structure: the distribution of floors in the maisonettes and split-level apartments, reachable from the underground car park via the comfort of a lift, all come together to create an extraordinary ambience.

The focus for this project lies on the particularly high demand of 3-room flats. Commercial space will be all but forgone in favour of an ample visual axis; a mere three commercial units will be implemented on the ground floor. Last but not least, the unique location amongst the nearby Rosental Park, the Auwald (Leipzig’s alluvial forest), the city harbour and the Schreberbad (Leipzig’s oldest and still-used public pool) meets the highest demands in terms of quality of life.
