A NEW SHINE FOR FRANKFURT’S FORMER OBERPOSTDIREKTION BUILDING
The Oberpostdirektion building in Frankfurt, an officially registered cultural heritage site, is truly one of a kind: constructed in the neo-baroque style, relatively well maintained, located in the neighbourhood of Westend directly opposite the city’s trade fair venue—and, since the move-out of the postal administration, ready for new utilisation ideas. By 2018, the CG Group will erect with this building the Westend-Ensemble—a multifaceted quarter for singles, couples, families and seniors, containing both the Senckenberg Carré and the listed, historic Westend Palais.
In accordance with the guidelines for monument preservation, the Westend Palais will be completely gutted and lovingly renovated to create prestigious condominiums. Next to the historic part of the former Oberpostdirektion building, the Senckenberg Carré will be stripped down and replaced with attractive, family-friendly rental flats. An elegant high-rise will complete the architecturally sophisticated Westend-Ensemble, offering optimally designed single apartments with a breathtaking view of the Frankfurt skyline.
